Akaro Mainoma Muhammad

Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN)

Professor Muhammad Akaro Mainoma is a Professor of Accounting and Finance is the President of ANAN. He is the immediate past Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi in Nigeria. A season university administrator, who transformed the university in all spheres, which enable it to achieve international visibility.

Prof. Mainoma has been vigorously involved in expanding academic space for postgraduate accounting and finance education, research and practice in Nigeria in the last 27 years by assisting universities in curriculum development, mounting of programmes and teaching across the country. He has published more than 100 journal articles, books and conferences proceedings.

Prof. Mainoma is currently a member of governing councils of ANAN, IAAER, CITN, and holds the membership of many academic and professional organisations. He was President of the Nigerian Accounting Association (NAA), which is a member driven association of academics in the accountancy profession. Prior to becoming ANAN President, he chaired a number of ANAN Committees, including Examination Committee, Mandatory Continuing Professional Development Committee and Building & Physical Infrastructure Committee.
